The ensemble present its refined sound and allows listeners to rediscover the impressive music of the late Romantic era in their recent complete CD recording of the string quartets of Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Josef Suk and Heinrich von Herzogenberg (on the cpo label).                                                                                          Zagreb Quartet   On April 25, 1919, the Zagreb Quartet was established by a concert in the great hall of the Croatian State Music Institute. The first musicians' four was comprised of the violinists Vaclav Huml and Milan Graf, violist Ladislav Miranov and violoncellist Umberto Fabri. In the course of ninety years of performing activities some thirty musicians gave their contribution to the Zagreb Quartet, among them Stjepan Å ulek, Josip Klima, Zlatko Balija, ÄorÄ‘e Trkulja, Marija Cobenzl, Goran BakraÄ, Ante ŽivkoviÄ ‡ , Josip StojanoviÄ ‡ , Goran KonÄar, Sergej Evseev and others.
